Help the Collaboration Council Fulfill Its Mission - Become a Board Member

We're seeking community members who are committed to improving the well-being of Montgomery County's children, youth and families to serve on our Board of Directors.

Our nonprofit organization's board has nine private sector members and 12 members representing public child-serving agencies. Private sector applicants may be advocates for services to children, youth and families, providers of services for children and families (employees of private non-profit agencies that receive County or Collaboration Council funding are ineligible), parents of children who receive or have recently received services of the type funded by the Collaboration Council, individuals between 18 and 25 years old, business owners and managers, leaders of civic and community service or religious organizations.

The Board oversees and governs all aspects of the Collaboration Council's programs, management and finances. Meetings occur on the second Wednesday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., in Rockville. Members are expected to serve on committees of the Board.

Since we're the designated Local Management Board, the County Executive appoints our members with confirmation by the County Council. Applicants of diverse backgrounds, professions, gender, geography, disability and ethncity are encouraged to apply. An application, consisting of a brief cover letter and resume, should be sent by mail to County Executive
Isiah Leggett, 101 Monroe Street, 2nd Floor, Rockville, MD 20850, or by email to Isiah Leggett. Home and employment addresses, as well as contact phone numbers and email addresses should be included. The deadline for application is January 28, 2011.
